Taught to the right side of the brain, it emphasizes the art elements and principles, drawing technique, self-expression, artist appreciation, art history, multi-cultural art, and media diversity. Lessons connected to world history and art history include The Greek Olympics and Art, Japanese Woodblocks and Op Art. Right brain (contour) drawing skills continue to be developed and emphasized. Students study and learn the styles of the artists Henri Rousseau, Henry Moore, Toulousee-Lautrec an Georges Seurat, and then create original artworks in their styles.
