Great Masters Virtual Museum
The Great Masters Virtual Museum is an art appreciation and art history supplement to the Arts Attack or the Art in the Afternoon curriculum. It is organized into 7 galleries – American Art, Renaissance Art and the Dutch Masters, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Cubism and Fauvism, Expressionism and Surrealism, and the School of Paris and Miscellaneous Art.
It contains all of the Arts Attack grade level artworks (110 artworks) along with additional artworks added over time, and is designed to give students a feel for various art genres, art appreciation and art history. The artworks are also designed to support and enhance the lessons in the program.
Each artwork is accompanied by an associated discussion guide. Discussion Guides include the following sections: “About the Artist”, “About the Artwork”, “Discussion Questions” (for class discussion), and “Activities and Extension” (ideas for connecting the art lesson with other subject areas).
- About the Artist
- About the Artwork
- Questions for class discussion
- Activities and extension including ideas to connect the art lesson with other subject areas
- 5-year subscription. It can be shared among all of the classrooms in a school.
